FACTORS AFFECTING THE RETENTION OF RETAIL BUSINESS MANAGEMENT’S DUAL VOCATIONAL BILATERAL SYSTEM STUDENTS IN PRIVATE VOCATIONAL COLLEGE IN THAILAND

Abstract

The objective of this research is to study factors influencing the retention of dual vocational bilateral system students in the Retail Business Management Program of private vocational colleges in Thailand. An online questionnaire was employed to collect data from 382 randomly selected dual vocational bilateral system students in the Retail Business Management Program of private vocational colleges in Thailand. Statistics employed for data analysis were the percentage, mean, standard deviation, and multiple regression analysis.


The results show that the respondents have the average age of 18.52 years, the GPAX score of 3.13, and the monthly income of 8,725 baht. The factors influencing the retention of dual vocational bilateral system students in the Retail Business Management Program of private vocational colleges in Thailand were the following: the employee recognition factor (p-value = 0.000), the advancement in education and work position factor (p-value = 0.000), the educational institution factor (p-value = 0.000), and the job security factor (p-value = 0.002) all of which have influence on the retention of dual vocational bilateral system students in the Retail Business Management Program of private vocational colleges in Thailand at the .01 level of statistical significance. The multiple linear regression equation is as shown below:
