STRENGTHENING THE LEARNERS’ PROFICIENCY THROUGH WORK-BASED EDUCATION MODEL

Abstract
The learning management based on work performance, or work-based education, is one of the learning management models that puts emphasis on the process of providing the learners with in-class learning experience together with actual on-site working experience. The outstanding feature of this model is that the field study program can design and adapt the operational process to be appropriate for the occupational context under the principle of enhancing the life skills and work performance skills of the learners to enable them to happily integrate the theoretical knowledge received in the classroom with the actual work experience in any organizations. This study of the work-based education learning management model is a study of the meaning and characteristics of the model, the principle and foundation concept, the components, the benefits and the relationships of the educational institution with the enterprise and society, all of which are key components in the work-based education learning management that connects and leads to the enhancement of the learners’ competency better than just the learning obtained in the classroom only. This learning management model creates the opportunities for the learners to get practical experience in any enterprises of more than once and graduate within the time limit of the study program. This article collected data from printed documents, online media, and related research studies from both within the country and foreign countries in order to find the guidelines for all concerned people to apply the work-based education model as the basis for designing learning experience to enable the learners to achieve quality in accordance with learning competencies in the 21st Century including the professional skills, social skills and life skills for the creation of the highest benefits.
