Main Article Content
Abstract
The objective of this research was to create a needs assessment tool for organizational development by using the framework of 13 Principles of Management toward Excellence of Charoen Pokphand Group (C.P. Excellence: CPEX). This study was a mix-method research with the use of a questionnaire and focus group discussion as research instruments for data collection. Data were collected from 31 business organizations in the service industry in Bangkok Metropolis and its vicinity. Research data were analyzed with modified priority needs index (PNImodified) and content analysis. The results showed that organizations focus on each of CPEX as being essential with mean score of expectation (Importance: I) at the highest level (_ x = 5.62) and mean score of authenticity (Degree of success: D) at the high level (_ x = 4.02). Therefore, this needs assessment tool could clearly distinguish between the actual condition and the expected condition in every organizational system. Results of hypothesis testing on the relationships between the Principles of Management toward Excellence of Charoen Pokphand Group (C.P. Excellence: CPEX) and business performance results showed that organizational leadership; strategic planning; focusing on personnel; focusing on operation; focusing on customers; green economy management; performance measurement and analysis; stakeholder engagement; decision making for sustainability; innovation management; management of data, information, and IT system; and corporate governance were positively correlated with business performance results. All of these relationships were significant at the .01 level of statistical significance.
