TOURISM LOGISTICS MANGEMENT GUIDELINES OF KOH KRET, PAK KRET DISTRICT, NONTHABURI PROVINCE

Abstract

The objectives of this research were (1) to study and analyze the problems of logistics management in the tourist attractions of Koh Kret in Pak Kret district, Nonthaburi province; (2) to measure the level of tourists’ satisfaction with the components of tourism logistics classified according to personal factors; (3) to measure the readiness level of tourism logistics management of the community classified according to personal factors; and (4) to propose the guidelines for tourism logistics management in Koh Kret, Pak Kret district, Nonthaburi province. The results of the study revealed that the important problems in logistics management in tourist attractions of Koh Kret in Pak Kret district, Nonthaburi province included the tourists’ lack of awareness of marketing information about the attractions and insufficient convenience and availability of payment options, particularly via credit cards. Besides these, it found that (1) there was insufficient participation in considering the benefits or the impact received from logistics tourism management for people in the community and the lack of information about local restaurants; (2) the overall level of tourists’ satisfaction with the components of tourism logistics was at the moderate level, with the aspect receiving the lowest satisfaction level being that of the financial flow; the tourists with different occupations and educational levels had significantly different satisfaction levels with the tourism logistics component of the financial flow at the .05 level of statistical significance; (3) the overall readiness level of the community for cultural tourism logistics management was at the moderate level, with the aspect receiving the lowest rating mean being that of the community participation; the community members with different ages and average monthly incomes would receive the different training programs to equip them with knowledge concerning guidelines for development, restoration, and conservation of local culture at the .05 level of statistical significance; and (4) guidelines for logistics management of Koh Kret tourist attractions in Pak Kret district, Nonthaburi province were as follows: for the tourists, there should be the focus on the management of the financial flow of tourists who had different occupations and educational levels; as for the community, it was important to focus on the management of participation based of the ages and average monthly incomes of the community members.
