A CAUSAL MODEL OF ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE, LEADERSHIP OF THE SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS WITH ORGANIZATIONAL CLIMATE, AND EFFECTIVE TEAM AS MEDIATORS, AFFECTING INNOVATION SCHOOLS FOR LARGE-SIZED SECONDARY SCHOOLS UNDER THE OFFICE OF THE BASIC EDUCATION COMMISSION

Abstract
The objectives of this research were to study the level of organizational structure, leadership of the school administrators, organizational climate, effective team and innovation schools, and to develop, validate the consistency with empirical data of a causal model of organizational structure, leadership of the school administrators via organizational climate, and effective team as mediators, affecting innovation schools for large-sized secondary schools under the Office of the Basic Education Commission. The research sample consisted of 440 administrators of large-sized secondary schools under the Office of the Basic Education Commission obtained by multi-stage sampling. The employed research instrument was a 5-level rating scale questionnaire, with overall reliability coefficient of .98. The data was analyzed using basic statistics and structural equation modeling analysis.
The research findings indicated that all variables were rated at the high level. The leadership level of the school administrators had the highest rating mean, followed by organization climate, effective team, innovation school, and organizational structure, respectively. Also, result of validating the consistency with empirical data of a causal model of organizational structure, leadership of the school administrators via organizational climate, and effective team as mediators, affecting innovation schools for large-sized secondary schools under the Office of the Basic Education Commission showed that the model very well fitted with empirical data as shown by Chi-square = 64.52 , df = 52, Chi-square/df = 1.24, P-value = 0.11399, GFI = 0.98, AGFI = 0.95, RMR = 0.022, and RMSEA = 0.023. It was also found that organizational structure had the highest effect on innovation schools, followed by organizational climate, leadership of the school administrators, and effective team, respectively.
