Guidelines to Improve the Management of the Child Development Centers under the Supervision of the Kok Charern Sub-District Administrative Organization in Tup Pud District, Pang-nga Province

Abstract

            The purposes of this research were: 1) to study the management level of the Kokk Charern Sub-District Administrative Organization’s Child Development Centers, 2) to discover problems that occurred, and 3)to provide guidelines to improve the management of the child development centers. The sample group consisted of 103 people: administrators, teachers, and parents. Questionnaires were used to collect data.

            The results of the study revealed: 1) The overall management level was found to be moderate in all aspects.  The area which was found to be very effective was planning, followed by implementation.  The aspect which was found to be the problem for management was modifying the plan. 2) Problems found were that the centers had different styles of management due to the budgets, locations, physical environments, and learning systems.  The Kok Charern Sub-district Administrative Organization did not effectively evaluate and follow-up the teachers’ performance.  This made the students’ quality of learning different in each center. 3) Guidelines to improve the level of the centers’ administrative performance were that the Kok Charern Sub-District Administrative Organization should consider merging their three centers in order to achieve more effective management, reduce the budget, and develop standards for teaching and learning.
