Phuket, the City of Educational Creativity

Abstract
This research aimed 1) to study the purpose of the current educational potential of Phuket province; 2) to study the factors that hinder and support the management of Phuket become to the city of creative education and 3) to study Phuket's management approach to the city of creative education by means of Qualitative Research, Documentary Study, In-depth Interview, and Focus Group Discussion through analysis and synthesis of data in order to create Phuket’s management approach to become the city of creative education.
As a result, it showed that 1) Phuket had a potential in many aspects; in terms of urbanization, economy and world-class tourism. The infrastructure has also been continuously developed whilst education has been thoroughly emphasized by the public to rather become urban than rural lifestyle with wide spreading of educational institutions covering all areas. The province had the appropriate geographic area with diversity of cultures and traditions. All sectors saw the importance of education. The availability of resources and cooperation derived from the provincial network to possibly make Phuket creative in education. 2) Factors that hinder the management of Phuket become to the city of creative education were technology and modern media, teachers and educational administrators, the quality of youth who came out to the labor market and the efficiency of local education management. In terms of the factors that support the management of Phuket become to the city of creative education were the appropriate geographic conditions, Identity, culture and economic expansion and the participation of all sectors in support and focus on education. And 3) Phuket could require the provision of education in a context-based curriculum called "BAAN SINO" which is an integrated curriculum, applied Buddhist Philosophy Neo-humanist concept and the Waldorf concept is a combination of "life skills, language skills, professional skills and moral ethics" taking into account the differences between individuals, including the ability, readiness, aptitude, preference and interest for the benefit of Phuket’s potential improvement. 1)Policy and Planning should be formulated by developing a policy and strategic plan for Phuket's development by creating learning potential; focusing on promoting and developing innovative research through learning resources. 2) Organizing should be focused on changing the structure of education management based on tangible results and decentralization as well as the principle of empowerment education for local people in Phuket to have freedom of choice to organize their own education. 3) Networking should be focused especially on the integration of business networks such as the Chamber of Commerce, the Federation of Thai Industries and other corporate networks. The government should promote such an association of exporters. The Association of Trade Executives as such has joined forces to create effective and effective management of Phuket to the city of educational creativity
