The Development of Professional Standards for Badminton Coaches

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to develop the professional standards for badminton coaches. There were 3 steps of the research process consisting of studying the problems and needs of badminton athletes and coaches, making the professional standards for badminton coaches, and verifying the appropriateness of the professional standards. The samples were professional badminton players, amateur badminton players, badminton coaches, parents/guardians, and badminton experts. The instrument used in this research was questionnaires. The data were analyzed by frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, median, interquartile range, and confirmatory factor analysis
The results were revealed that
The professional standards for badminton coaches was organized into 6 domains, 17 standards, and 74 competencies. The six domains were consisted of training domain, knowledge domain, badminton experience domain, ethic domain, badminton teaching domain, and safety domain
