The Study of the Administrative Model of the Nursery Schools : A Case Study of Ban Atchara Nursery School

Abstract
The purposes of this research were to study the administrative model of Ban Atchara Nursery School and to examine the factors affected the success of the school. The informants included19 people : the owner of the school, the committee of the nursery school, teachers, and parents. The data was collected by using an in depth interview. The study showed that the administrators of the school employed the Buddhist “Kanlayanamit” model in administrating the school. The administrators themselves focused on the principles of ethics and were good models for teachers and children. The seven principles of Kanlayanamit were as follows : Piyo – being friendly : Karu – being good models and helpful : Pawaneeyo – self-studying; WattaJa – providing good advice : WajaNakkamo – being patient and polite : Kampeeranja Kathang Katta – being knowledgeable; No Jatthane Niyo Chaye – not persuade to do evil. Moreover, the administrators providedopportunities for the community and involved people to participate in making decision and operating the school in taking care of children. The school was monitored and controlled by the quality assurance process which involved with the continuous evaluation and follow-up. There are 6 factors affecting the success of the school; 1) Teachers must have experiences and high responsibilities; 2) Administratorsmust work hard and take good care of teachers; 3) Parents mustunderstand the school’s policy; 4) Children must be well fed with good nutrition; 5) the location of the school must be convenient; 6) School teamwork must be strong and united.
