"Marzong" godliness and humanity invoking spirits in the ritual area of Phuket Vegetarian Festival

Abstract
This article is part of the research on “Gimzin”and “Marzong”: God and Medium in Ritual Space of Chinese people in Phuket Province. The study is about the psychic or a medium in the form or role of deities and humanities in Phuket Vegetarian Festival by collecting field research data in the shrine and in the Vegetable Festival itself. There are in-depth interviews with people involved in rituals at the shrine presented in descriptive analysis.
The results of the research are defined in 3 aspects, namely the beliefs of the ancestors of the Hokkien Chinese regarding the deities and humanities of the mediums invoking spirits in the ritual area. It has been found that the mediums are chosen by gods invoking in the human body, to be an intermediary or medium between human beings and the gods in the ritual of Gimzin. An idol sculpture acts as a representative of the gods. The psychic in the spiritual interaction dimension and the process of becoming a medium that creates deities (godlike) and humanities (humanlike) consists of 1) Dimensions and spiritual interactions that affect the origin of the medium in the ritual area. The soul of the gods enters and possesses power to control and invoke spirits. The person; therefore, is the mediator acting in communication with the spirits of gods and 2) The gods and the mediums, the process of becoming godlike and humanlike, it has been discovered that the body acted as an intermediary or a medium for the gods to create glory linked to the occurrence of telepathy in the presence. And the role of the medium in a special situation with the representation in the deities and humanities to practice in the sacred area, is consisted of 1) Depictions of gods that appear as deities in humans on ritual areas have been found with the relationship between the representative image or an idol and the appearance of the gods is like imitating the identity of the deities with “Gimzin” images that shows godlike identity in human body. 2) It has been discovered that the image of the psychic or a medium is in the form or a role of godlike and humanlike in the area of the sacred Chinese temples and shrines "The Psychic" is the image of a strong belief that has a symbolic nature, godliness, humanity, and 3) It has been found that behavioral expressions in the supernatural performances of the mediums show various miracles to compensate fate and doom for human beings, according to the principle Mahayana Buddhism and beliefs in the existing sacredness.
