MANAGEMENT OF VILLAGE WATERWORKS IN NAKHON NAYOK PROVINCE

Abstract

The objectives of this research were 1) to study the process management of village waterworks in Nakhon Nayok province, 2) to study outcomes of village waterworks management of Thailand in a previous time period, and 3) to analyze some results from research conducting and proposing method to develop the policy of village waterworks of Thailand as effectiveness. The research methodology was mainly based on qualitative research, where in-depth interview, textbook, academic article, seminar report and electronic media from Thailand and international, most of them were used for studying. The research findings showed that 1) Process of management of village waterworks, two samples are Bangkhayor and Phongam, both of them have a system of waterworks management including man, money budgetary, materials for fixing and maintenance, those from government and also process management has been organized in the kind of village waterworks committees, 2) Outcomes of village waterworks management until decentralization are transfer to local government. So, the village waterworks committees are selected by local people in each area. As a result of this era of decentralization, so the process of village waterworks management can be done rapidly 3) recommendations are proposed in terms of policy implication, practical contribution, and academic contribution.
