สภาวะวิกฤตต่างๆ เช่น เหตุการณ์วันที่ 1 กันยายน (September 11) การ ระเบิดที่บาหลี โรคชารส์ ไข้หวัดนกและสึนามิ ล้วนส่งผลกระทบอย่างร้ายแรงต่ออุตสาหกรรมต่างๆ โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งอุตสาหกรรมการท่องเที่ยวซึ่งมีความอ่อนไหวสูงต่อสภาวะวิกฤต บทความนี้จึงใช้การทบทวนวรรณกรรมที่เกี่ยวข้อง (Critical Review of Literature) เพื่อวิเคราะห์ปัจจัยที่ส่งผลต่อความอ่อนไหวของอุตสาหกรมการท่องเที่ยว รวมทั้งเสนอแนะสิ่งที่ธุรกิจในอุตสาหกรรมการท่องเที่ยวสามารถนำไปปรับใช้ได้
