ลักษณะการใช้ภาษาอังกฤษของนักวิชาการไทย : การศึกษาเบื้องต้น

ลักษณะการใช้ภาษาอังกฤษของนักวิชาการไทยได้รับอิทธิพลจากภาษาและวัฒนธรรมไทยค่อนข้างสูง ทำให้มีความเป็นเอกลักษณ์เฉพาะตัว การศึกษาเบื้องต้นนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่ออธิบายสถานะของภาษาอังกฤษในประเทศไทย และนำเสนอตัวอย่างการใช้ภาษาอังกฤษของนักวิชาการไทย โดยแบ่งออกเป็นห้าลักษณะ คือ (1) การออกเสียง (2) การใช้คำยืม (3) การสลับ/ปนภาษา (4) ชื่อและคำนำหน้าชื่อ (5) ธรรมเนียมการใช้วาทศิลป์ โดยได้ทำการวิเคราะห์ทั้งภาษาพูดและภาษาเขียนจากแหล่งข้อมูลที่หลากหลาย อันได้แก่ หนังสือพิมพ์ บทความวิชาการ วิทยานิพนธ์ การเสวนาวิชาการ และการสัมภาษณ์
