Financial Planning Before Retirement

Abstract

As Thailand’s population ages, the retirement age has increased. Therefore, to alleviate the burden on the elderly, people should have a retirement plan to save and to invest in various assets. The government is addressing this matter through a compulsory savings system which includes the Social Fund, Government Pension and Mutual Fund. Besides a compulsory saving system, individuals can save money by investing in assets such as common stocks, bonds, debentures, land, a home, a condominium and gold. However, any of these investments could be risky. Thus, investors should be cautious by ensuring that their principal is safe and can yield returns for a secure future.
