Problems and needs affecting student teaching and learning faculty of science and technology, Bangkokthonburi University after the Covid 19 outbreak crisis

Abstract

This article aims were to study the problems and needs affecting student teaching and learning faculty of science and technology, Bangkokthonburi University after the Covid 19 outbreak crisis, which is used in teaching and learning by using a questionnaire as a tool to collect data from 290 students in the Faculty of Science and Technology, Bangkokthonburi University, 1st-4th year. By using simple random sampling, the sample size was 165 people. The research results according to the objectives found that 1. There are more male students than female students and most of the parents are farmers, followed by civil servants with sufficient income. All students have a device that is a Smart Phone. 2. Problems of online teaching found in 2 aspects 1) Technical equipment Most students have problems using devices that are not ready for use, lack of equipment, basic computer programs do not support and the internet signal is not stable enough. 2) Environment Most students have an unfavorable environment, no privacy, causing them to not be able to concentrate on studying and cannot manage their time to attend classes. 3. Recommendations for teaching management 1) Learning atmosphere Teachers stimulate learning with activities that have interesting teaching skills. 2) Teachers should choose channels that are easily accessible for online teaching. 3) Good interaction between teachers and students.
