FACTORS AFFECTING DECISION TO CONTINUE STUDYING AT BACHELOR’S DEGREE OF HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS THAT ARE UNDER THE OFFICE OF THE NON-FORMAL AND INFORMAL EDUCATION

Abstract

This research explores the factors influencing the decision of high school students studying under the Office of the Non-Formal and Informal Education system (NFE) to continue their education at the bachelor's degree level. A sample population of 400 high school students enrolled in the NFE system was surveyed to collect the necessary data. The statistical analysis employed in this research encompassed frequency, percentage, and a logit model. The findings of this study revealed several factors that significantly influence the decision of high school students to pursue a bachelor's degree. Specifically, occupation, family income per month, and dependence emerged as key determinants. The results indicated that high school students employed in private companies exhibited a lower likelihood of pursuing a bachelor's degree compared to students in other occupations. Moreover, high school students within the NFE system belonging to families with a monthly income between 10,001-15,000 baht demonstrated a higher inclination to continue their education at the bachelor's degree level, as opposed to students from families with different income levels. Additionally, the presence of dependents among high school students was associated with a reduced likelihood of pursuing a bachelor's degree in comparison to students without dependents.
