Abstract

A study of the relationship between vertical communication’s pattern and employee engagement aims to investigate the relationship between vertical communication’s pattern (downward communication and upward communication) and employee engagement. The sample of the study consisted of 160 permanent personals in private organization. Chi-Square is used to analyze the data. The results of this study revealed that there is relationship between downward communication and upward communication and employee engagement at statistical significance level of 0.05. As a result, both types of communication are critical to providing information from executives and hearing back from employees, whether it is a side of faith and accepts the organization’s goal and values, the willingness to take full power to the organization and desire to remain a membership of the organization
