Publication Ethics
Publication Ethics
The PSDS Journal of Development Studies, Puey Ungphakorn School of Development Studies, Thammasat University, establishes publication ethics for three key parties involved in the publication process, as follows:
1) Publication Ethics for Authors
Authors must ensure that:
- The submitted manuscript has not been previously published, disseminated, or under consideration elsewhere.
- The work is original and derived from the author’s own study, analysis, synthesis, and composition, and does not involve plagiarism or misappropriation of others’ work.
- The manuscript complies fully with the journal’s prescribed format and standards.
- Research findings and academic content are presented in accordance with sound scholarly principles.
- All listed authors have made a genuine contribution to the research or its execution.
- All sources of text, data, images, and tables are properly cited to prevent copyright infringement or plagiarism. Any complaints regarding such matters are the sole responsibility of the author(s), and the journal reserves the right to retract the article immediately.
- For research-based articles, evidence of research ethics approval or participant rights protection must be provided.
- For funded research, sources of financial support and any conflicts of interest must be disclosed (if applicable).
2) Ethics and Responsibilities of the Editor and Editorial Team
- The editorial team must ensure that submitted manuscripts are not duplicated or previously published elsewhere.
- The editor is responsible for assessing whether submissions fall within the journal’s scope.
- All manuscripts must be evaluated based solely on academic merit, without bias toward the author(s) or content.
- The editor must appoint qualified reviewers with expertise relevant to the manuscript’s subject area.
- The editor and editorial team must have no conflicts of interest with the author(s) or reviewers.
3) Ethics and Responsibilities of Peer Reviewers
- Reviewers must have no conflicts of interest or vested interests related to the author(s) or manuscript content.
- Manuscripts must be evaluated objectively based on academic principles and sound reasoning.
- Reviewers must maintain strict confidentiality and must not disclose any part of the manuscript until the review process is complete.
- Reviewers should provide constructive, academically grounded recommendations to enhance the scholarly quality of the manuscript.
