Mahathir Mohammad and the preservation of the Malaysian political elite

Abstract
The study on Mahathir Mohamad and the Preservation of the Malaysian Political Elite aims to study and analyze the factors of preserving the political elite of Mahathir Mohamad as the oldest and longest serving political leader. This research is qualitative research by documentary research, which collects primary and secondary data by analyzing through the concepts of Elite Ruler, Social Theory, and Theories of Motivation. The research results showed that Mr. Mahathir Mohamad was able to maintain the balance of power and remained the political elite of Malaysia for a long time with six outstanding characteristics: 1) Mahathir Mohamad had the ability to drive and motivate the people 2) Mr. Mahathir Mohamad has a strong leadership style 3) Mahathir Mohamad has a good social disposition 4) Mahathir Mohamad is a person who is constantly in the media. 5) Mahathir Mohamad has a strong social network and 6) Mahathir Mohamad has outstanding performance in his work where he can lead the country to progress.
