A Study of Academic Affairs Administration Problems and Solutions of Basic Educational Institutions under Chaiyaphum Primary Educational Service Area Office 1

The purposes of this research were to 1) study the academic affairs administration problems of basic educational institutions under Chaiyaphum Primary Educational Service Area Office 1 and 2) compare those problems as classified basic educational institutions with different circumstances and 3) find out the solutions for the academic affairs administration problems of the basic education institutions under Chaiyaphum Primary Educational Service Area Office 1.
The research samples were from 155 schools under Chaiyaphum Primary Educational Service Area Office 1. Ninety-five out of 155 schools were small-sized schools. Forty-six and 14 out of 155 schools were large and small-sized schools respectively. The research samples were educational administrators, heads of academic affairs and instructors. The research instruments were a five-point rating scale questionnaire and a semi-structured interview form. The statistical methods used to analyze the data were the percentage, mean score (), standard deviation (S.D.), t-test, F-test and the Scheffé post hoc comparisons.
The results of the study were as follows :
- The academic affairs administration problems of basic educational institutions were in the moderate level in overall and by aspects. The aspect with the highest was educational supervision, followed by the development of innovative media and educational technology, and the development of learning resources.
- When comparing the academic affairs administration problems of basic educational institutions as classified by types of school, school locations and school sizes, the results were the followings by types of school were not different in overall and by aspects by school locations were different at the significant level of 0.05 in overall and by aspects. However, the aspects which were evaluation, assessment and accreditation of prior learning, and the development of internal quality assurance system were not different and by school sizes were different at the significant level of 0.05 in overall and by aspects.
- Regarding the solutions for the academic affairs administration problems, the results were the followings : Concerning educational supervision, the educational institutions should have systematically educational supervision plan. The educational supervision should be conducted continually and regularly In relation to innovative media and educational technology, the educational institutions should have funding raised from the parent association in order to purchase media and technologies or the media can be donated by other sectors. Available materials should be taken to produce media or the broken media devices should be fixed. Instructors should be encouraged to produce different kinds of media that are appropriate to individual learners and group leaners and In regard to the development of learning resources, the educational institutions should survey the learning resources and folk wisdom, then record the information related to learning resources. The educational institutions should support and make use of learning resources and folk wisdom by arranging the students filed trip.
