The Development of Collaborative Skills using the Cooperative Learning Techniques of the Prathomsuksa 5 Students

Abstract

The objective of this study was to enchance Pratomsuksa 5 students’ learning by using Cooperative Learning with the condition that academic achievement should not be less than 70 percent of the total scores and 70 percent of the students should reach the determined criterion. The target group of this study was 27 students in Pratomsuksa 5 at Ban MuMon School by using purposive sampling, semester 2 in the academic year 2020. The research design was an action research. The research instrument consisted of 8 lesson plans, group of student’s behavior observation form and academic achievement on Social Studies test. The statistics employed to analyzed the collected data were Percentage (%), Mean or Average (), Standard Deviation (S.D).

The results revealed that: 1) In the first cycle, there was 22 students who passed the goal’s criteria at 70.24 percent and 5 students who could not meet the criteria at 30.76 percent with Standard Deviation (S.D) was of 2.87 and 2) In the second cycle, it was found that all the students passed the criteria at 100 percent with Standard Deviation (S.D) of 2.39.
