A Model of Academic Administration towards Excellence for Buddhist Charity School

Abstract

The objectives of the research were 1) to study the state of academic administration towards excellence of best practice schools 2) to create a Model of Academic Administration towards Excellence for Buddhist Charity School and 3) to assess the feasibility and usefulness of a Model of Academic Administration towards Excellence for Buddhist Charity School. The sample groups according to the objective of item 1 were 3 model schools of best practices. The research tools were Semi Structured interview forms. The data were analyzed by content analysis. The sample groups according to the objective of item 2 were 7 experts. The research tools were accuracy and suitability evaluation forms. The statistical techniques were used to analyze the data which were percentage, mean and standard deviation. The sample groups according to the objective of item 3 were directors of the schools and directors of academic affairs in 25 Buddhist Charity Schools. The research tools were feasibility and usefulness evaluation forms. The statistical techniques were used to analyze the data which were percentage, mean and standard deviation.

The research findings were as follows : 1) The state of academic administration towards excellence of best practice schools revealed that the whole schools operate according to the scope of academic administration in all 6 factors and cover the criteria for administrative excellence in all 7 factors. 2) A Model of Academic Administration towards Excellence for Buddhist Charity School consists of (1) principle and rationale (2) objective (3) essence of the model (4) implementations of the model (5) conditions for success; which the academic administration is considered the main task of the school affecting effective teaching and learning management, it should therefore have a framework aiming for excellence by proceeding a Model of Academic Administration towards Excellence in the context of each Buddhist Charity School, the executives and teachers must realize the importance of the academic administration and proceed the model seriously and continuously. The assessment of accuracy and suitability were overall at the highest level. 3) The feasibility and usefulness of a Model of Academic Administration towards Excellence for Buddhist Charity School were overall at the highest level.
