The Development of Management Strategies toward the Excellence of the School in St.Gabriel’s Foundation, Thailand.

Abstract

The purposes of this study were: 1) to study the states and guidelines for educational institution administration toward the excellence of the school in St. Gabriel’s Foundation, 2) to develop strategies for educational institution administration toward the excellence of the School in St. Gabriel’s Foundation, and to investigate 3) the suitability and evaluate the feasibility of the developed strategy’s utility. There were three steps of the research ; Step 1 was separated into two stages. Stage 1 was to study the states for the school administration towards the excellence of the school under St. Gabriel’s Foundation, Thailand. The samples were 240 people. Moreover, the data was collected from 15 schools. The instrument used in this step was questionnaire. The data was analyzed using frequency, percentages, mean ( ), and standard deviation (S.D.). Stage 2 was to study the best practice of the school administration for the school in St. Gabriel’s Foundation. There were 27 purposive samples selected by Semi Structure interview and content analysis. Next, step 2 was to develop the school administration strategy for the excellence by using Focus Group Discussion. There were seven experts attended the meeting to investigate the suitability of the strategy. The instruments used in this stage were drawing up the educational institution management strategy for excellence of the schools under St. Gabriel’s Foundation and a group seminar documentation. Finally, And step 3 investigate the feasibility and utility of the strategy which focused on the content that will be brought to construct the probable and useful questionnaire was assessed by 64 directors, deputy directors, head of the director's office and head of academic department.

The research findings were as follows :1. The mean score of the states and guidelines for the educational institutions’ administration towards the excellence of schools under St. Gabriel's Foundation of Thailand was at a high level. 2. The School Administration Strategies for the Excellence of Schools under the St. Gabriel’s Foundation of Thailand consisted of three main strategies were as follows: 1) the school management in the St. Gabriel’s foundation to be efficient was developed to be efficient according to the sustainable good governance including five strategies, five indicators, and five projects / activities, 2) the effectiveness of the human resource management under the St. Gabriel’s foundation was accelerated according to the St. Montfort’s educational direction management as five strategies, four indicators, and six projects / activities, and 3) the quality of students under the St. Gabriel’s Foundation was improved to get the international standards through the St. Montfort’s educational direction management according to four strategies, three indicators, and seven projects / activities and the strategy for the administration of educational institutions towards excellence of the schools in the St. Gabriel Foundation of Thailand was appropriate. 3. The strategy for the administration of educational institutions towards excellence of the schools under the St. Gabriel Foundation of Thailand was appropriate. Moreover, the feasibility and utility were at the highest level.
