LEARNING ACHIEVEMENT ON CHINESE LANGUAGE AND LEARNERS’ SATISFACTION TOWARDS CHINESE SUMMER CAMP PROGRAM IN GUANGZHOU, PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF CHINA

Abstract

The purposes of this study were 1) to compare learning achievement on Chinese language of Bangkok University students as Chinese learners in foreign country participating the Chinese Summer Camp Program at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies in Guangzhou, People’s Republic of China, 2) to compare learning achievement on Chinese language of those students having different backgrounds, and3) to study learners’ satisfaction on Chinese Summer Camp Program after participating by using One-group pretest-posttest design with research samplings which are 54 students from Bangkok University. The adopted research tools in this study were 1) the learning schedule of the program, 2) the test of Chinese language measuring the learning achievement, and 3) post-participation survey. Descriptive analysis and T-Test were used to measure the data. The results of this study found that 1) The students participated the program had the learning achievement on Chinese language in higher level comparing with those of pre-participation period. 2) First and second year students had the level of learning achievement on Chinese language less than those of third year in both aspect and overall results. 3) The students had overall results in high level on satisfactionafter participating the program ( = 3.57).
