THE PRESENTATION OF LOCAL IDENTITIES AND NAMING TECHNIQUES OF THAI NATIONAL COSTUME OF MISS GRAND THAILAND 2018

The objective of this research article aimed to analyze naming techniques and naming structures of Thai national costume of Miss Grand Thailand 2018. Data were collected from of Miss Grand Thailand Pageant 2018 website. Qualitative research method was employed by using participatory observation and enquiry.
The study found that traditional costume naming techniques of Miss Grand Thailand Pageant 2018, ten techniques were found; naming after a person, naming after plant, naming after animal, naming after particular item, naming after place, naming after artistic performance, naming after sport or local play, naming after tradition, ritual or festival, naming after community environment or way of life, and naming after local legend, history or background. Each single naming technique had different structure.
