Development of Preschool Children’s Interaction Behaviors Through Lopburi Province’s Local Culture Drama Activities, Bankhoktoom School

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to: 1) compare preschool children’s interaction behaviours before and during Lopburi province’s local cultural drama activities; and 2) study the changing trends of preschool children’s interaction behaviours during Lopburi province’s local cultural drama activities. The population used in this research were 32 preschool children, boys and girls, aged between 4-5 years, who studied in Kindergarten Year 2 in the first semester of the academic year 2022 at Bankhoktoom School, Mueang District, Lopburi province. Twenty preschoolers were picked from the population by the researcher using a simple random sampling method. This was experimental research with a one-group  time-series design. The experiment took 9 weeks, 3 days a week on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, with 30 minutes each. The research instruments were lesson plans of Lopburi province’s local culture  drama activities with the IOC between.67 and 1.00. and preschool children’s interaction behaviours observation form with the reliability at .81. The statistics used to analyse the data were mean, standard deviation, and repeated measures ANOVA.     

The research findings revealed that: 1) preschool children’s interaction behaviours during participation in the Lopburi Province’s local culture drama activities were higher than before the experiment at the statistical significance level of .05. This indicated that the mean of preschool children’s interaction behaviours differed by at least 1 pair, and 2) the changing trend of preschool children’s interaction behaviours had increasingly changed during participation in Lopburi province’s local cultural drama activities.
