Work Performance and Problems of the MonitoriFollow up Police Administration Committee of the Provincial Police Station in Nakhon Pathom Province

Abstract

The objectives of this research were 1) to study work performance of the Monitoring and Follow up Police Administration Committee of the Provincial Police Station in Nakhon Pathom Province and 2) to study problems related to the performance of this committee. A qualitative research methodology was used in this study. Data were gathered from 24 stakeholders involving in the work performance of the Monitoring and Follow up Police Administration Committee of 4 Provincial Police Stations in Muang District, Nakhon Pathom Province. The research findings showed that 1) in terms of the work performance of the Monitoring and Follow up Police Administration Committee of the Provincial Police Station in Nakhon Pathom Province, it was found that they performed their work by conducting meetings and discussions, gaining opinions from the committee who were representatives of each organization, gaining points of view as well as suggestions from every organizations, reporting problems to the boards of committee, and solving the problems together in order to achieve the set goals; and 2) the main problems related to the performance of this committee was the problems of human forces because there were insufficient officers to perform in the assigned areas so that the care given to local residents was not thorough in every area. Thus, it was necessary to use police volunteers to work with police officers. However, the use of police volunteers has also encountered with insufficient budget to support their work.
