Democratic Governance with Thai Political Institutions in the Constitutional Era 2017

Abstract

Thailand has changed the administration from having a single ruler, the King, or commonly known as the absolute monarchy to become a democratic regime. The People's Party seized power from King Rama VII on June 24, 1932 by following the form of democracy from the United Kingdom which is written in writing is called the constitution. The constitution is a supreme law. It is currently the 20^th, 2017 edition. Stipulates that there are political institutions consisting of the legislative branch is the legislative body of parliament consisting of members from the house that representatives. The senators have the power to enact laws and monitor the exercise of executive powers, namely the government. The executive branch is the government headed by the prime minister including government organizations which has the power and duty in the administration of state affairs under the law and the judiciary, including the judiciary and the administrative courts and military courts. Which have the powers and duties to monitor, control and force all sectors of Thai society to comply with the law. There are also independent organizations such as “Election Commission Ombudsman National Anti-Corruption Commission State Audit Committee” and the “National Human Rights Commission” including constitutional organizations is the prosecutor's organization and local government organizations which are the political institutions under the democratic regime of Thailand having power and duty as stipulate by the constitution and organic law.
