Abstract

This research aims to 1) To study the self-discipline of kindergarten 1 students who received learning experiences through creative art activities; 2) to compare the self-discipline of kindergarten 1 students before and after participating in creative art activities; and 3) to examine the satisfaction of kindergarten 1 student toward learning experiences through creative art activities. This study employed a quasi-experimental research design using a one-group pretest–posttest design. The population consisted of 50 Kindergarten 1 children studying in the second semester of the academic year 2025 at Wat Komoot Phuttharangsi Pre-Primary Child Development Center under the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration. The sample included 25 Kindergarten 1 children selected by purposive sampling. The research instruments included (1) creative art activity lesson plans; (2) an observation form for children’s self- discipline behaviors, and (3) a satisfaction assessment form. The data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and dependent samples t-test.
The results revealed that: (1) the children’s self-discipline improved from a mean score of 4.43 (moderate level) before the intervention to 7.51 (high level) after participation; (2) the posttest scores were significantly higher than the pretest scores at the .001 level (t = 15.29, p < .001), indicating a statistically significant effect of the activities on self-discipline development; and (3) the children reported a high level of satisfaction with the activities, with the activity entitled “Free Drawing: I Am a Self-Disciplined Child” receiving the highest rating.
