Buddhism and Thai Youth’s Expectations

Abstract

This article analyzes the role of Buddhism in shaping the expectations of Thai youth, emphasizing the importance of Buddhism in cultivating values and culture in Thai society. Buddhism has had a long-lasting influence in instilling virtues and ethics. The study of Buddhism in schools and families plays a crucial role in fostering positive values in the younger generation. Thai youths expect Buddhism to adapt to the modern era, especially through the use of technology and online media to make the teachings more accessible. They also hope that it will encourage the practice of Dhamma in daily life more effectively. Additionally, there are suggestions for enhancing Buddhist education within the school system and promoting religious activities within communities.
